Lake Nebagamon from a Paddle Board

This lake holds a special place in my heart as I have been coming here since, well, forever. I have family that live on the lake and have spent every summer up here since I can remember. I launched my board at our private landing and paddled through the lily pads and the oh-so pretty water flowers.

The sun was shining and the water temp was warm so it was perfect. I started my voyage closer to shore; there are a lot of docks on this lake, so I was admiring all the gorgeous houses and cabins. The longer I paddled, I noticed I was drifting farther and farther out. I paddled about 45 minutes until I hit the little lighthouse on the lake and turned around. By this point, I had managed to get much farther out. There weren’t a lot of boats out, because it was about 7 PM, but it was pretty windy. I stopped paddling for a few minutes to take some photos, so I am assuming that’s part of the reason I drifted so far without really noticing.

The paddle back was more challenging. I was going against the wind and some boats were heading in for the day, so I came up on some choppy waters. Overall, a perfect July day on the lake and a great paddle.
